Theta Delta Chi (abbreviated TDX) was founded in 1847 on the principle of UNITING HEARTS to establish strong bonds of mutual and unreserved friendship and lasting ties of brotherhood. Developing the intellectual, moral, and social man is of paramount importance, and our brothers are committed to extend this principle to a population of youth who can benefit from our commitment to make a difference. Bros UniteD (abbreviated B.U.D.) is an extension of Theta Delta Chi’s international service effort to support Autism Speaks as its philanthropy of choice and to take a more direct approach besides simply raising money and attending local Walks for Autism Research, which the brothers of TDX do every year. We want to share the rich experiences of our fraternal bonds with these teenage boys with autism with the hope of leaving a special and lasting positive influence in their lives and in the lives of every participating Theta Delt.
The Spring 2012 eight-week program will take place on or near the Rutgers University campus in New Brunswick every SUNDAY from 1 TO 3 P.M. beginning in late January with a social gathering for the participants and their families. The program will culminate in March with an awards banquet. While independence is part of being a “cool teen”, parents are welcome to stay and observe any of the activities.
